PEP Parenting Preschoolers A

(formerly named Parenting Preschoolers I)

For Parents of Young Children Ages 2 1/2 to 5


This class will help you establish healthy relationship patterns with your child throughout the preschool years. Parenting Preschoolers A teaches:

Course length: Four weeks, meeting twice a week

PEP Parenting Preschoolers B

(formerly named Parenting Preschoolers II)

For Parents of Young Children Ages 2 1/2 to 5


For parents who have taken Preschoolers A, this class will continue down the path of developing a healthy relationship with your child. Parenting Preschoolers B teaches:

  • Increased understanding and techniques for diagnosing and addressing misbehaviors
  • Ideas for teachinig social skills and manners
  • How to use emotion coaching to help your child cope with strong feelings
  • Knowledge of birth order, how it can influence parenting and sibling relationships
  • More practice and a greater understanding of setting and upholding limits
  • How order and training in life skills promotes self-sufficiency and cooperation
  • How to structure regular family meetings to promote cooperation and responsibility

Course length: Eight weeks Prerequisite: PEP Parenting Preschoolers I or A or PEP Babies and Preschoolers

PEP Parenting Babies and Toddlers

For Parents of Children Ages Birth to 2 1/2 years


Learn what it means to be an effective parent in today's society. Build parenting skills that will last a lifetime and ensure that you and your child are starting out on the right foot together. Parenting Babies and Toddlers teaches:

  • Ways to develop a healthy relationship with your child
  • How a young child changes you and your relationships
  • How your child's temperament influences behavior
  • The "ages and stages" of child development and how to foster healthy growth
  • Brain development and why your child needs various types of interactions
  • Ways to encourage your child and redirect unwanted behavior

Nursing infants are welcome to attend. On-site childcare is available for babies and toddlers who are crawling or walking and therefore could disrupt class. See policies for more information.

Course length: Eight weeks
