Super Sitters Class for Youth

PEP’s Super Sitters Class and Lab is for young people age 10 and older. In three class meetings plus a lab, prospective sitters learn skills including these:

  • Communicating with parents
  • Winning the cooperation of children in their care
  • Preventing and handling emergencies
  • Tailoring care to meeting the changing needs of children as they grow

NOTE: By law, a sitter must be at least 13 years old to sit for children without an adult present. Youth age 10-12 can be parents’ helpers.

“After my daughter took the class, I was pleasantly surprised to see that she started taking a bag full of crafts to do with the kids when she went babysitting. And she even taught them how to knit!”
