PEP in the News

Yesterday afternoon Fox 5 News ran a story titled “Public Shaming Punishment,” reporting the aftermath of a photograph taken of an unidentified teenage girl standing on a sidewalk holding a sign that said, “I AM A BULLY!” After hearing the opinions, both pro and con, of several people on the streets of Gaithersburg, reporter Bob Barnard spoke at length with PEP Education Director Patti Cancellier, who gave PEP’s views on the likely results of punishing a child as opposed to teaching empathy. Watch the Fox 5 segment with the interview and a thumbs-up for PEP from the news anchor at the end.

Wonderful work. Glad that they took the time to let Patti explain more than what fits in a sound bite. And, of course, what a great job she did explaining.
